I feel lucky to have traveled to the Philippines. Even if it is considered as a third world country, I say it’s a world class attraction for it’s exotic beauty and fascinating culture. With several thousand islands, you can expect a variety of sub-cultures and touring the main islands of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will truly satisfy your cultural curiosity. Here are a few destinations you must see when you visit the Philippines.
Boracay Island – This is island is home to the world famous White Beach, which is considered one of bests in the world. The island also offer a fun night life for people who likes to party. This will be a fun destination for beach lovers and party animals alike.
Bohol – You can the world’s smallest primate, the Tarsier, in this Visayan Island. The ever famous Chocolate Hills can also be found here. Take the city tour to have a peek at this province’s history and after that, travel to Panglao or Anda to relax in their beautiful white san beaches, which is one of the best in my opinion. For those who loves diving, this island also has a number of beautiful diving spots that you can take advantage of. If you’re a thrill seeker, then there’s an adventure park in Danao that will surely satisfy the daredevil in you. Truly, Bohol has something for everyone.
Palawan – Palawan is home to the world famous Subterranean River. This national park will let you in on an enchanting journey to caves with beautiful limestone landscape, stalactite and stalagmite formations, mountain-to-sea ecosystem, with all these while you’re cruising along an underground river. While you are on the island, take the time to also experience their fascinating beaches, lush virgin forests, and excellent diving spots such as the Tubbataha Reef.
Tagaytay City – Tagaytay City has become a popular destination for tourists for it’s close proximity to Manila. The Taal Volcano and Lake Taal is the most popular destination in Tagytay City. You can ride a boat from Tagaytay to reach the volcano’s island. After that, you will ride a horse to reach the top of the mountain. When you’ve reached the top, then you will be able to see smoke coming out and bubbling water on the edges of the lake inside the volcano’s crater. You can also take a boat ride in the lake and enjoy the scenic view of the valley.
Banaue Rice Terraces – This is considered to be the 8th wonder of the world. These terraces were built by hand approximately 2000 years ago by the native people of Ifugao, and the structures are still present on this very day. You can take hiking trips on this area and marvel at what is regarded to be one of the greatest engineering achievements of mankind.
Manila – Of course, you should not miss out the Philippines’ capital. Manila is considered to be the melting pot of cultures in the Philippines. Here, you will find museums, art galleries, and historical landmarks that will give an idea of what the Philippines is all about. A lot of tourists also stay in Manila for the night life, shopping, and dining spots.
