The Philippines: Home of the Best Beach Destinations in the World

The Philippines is unquestionably one of the most beautiful places in the world. Blessed with a rich diversity of flora and fauna and a plethora of terrestrial sights that can only be seen in the country, it is also the home of the best beaches in the planet. With 7,107 islands to choose from, one cannot help but to conclude that it is really more fun here in the Philippines.

Have you ever caught yourself wondering where the best place to spend your summer vacations? Well you don't need to wonder anymore because you could just easily head to the Philippines- the home of the best beach destinations in the world.

Whether you are going with your family, friends, or just want to spend some time alone in beautiful scenic beaches, then the Philippines is really the place suited for you. With numerous world-class beaches to choose from, I would just feature 5 of the country’s iconic beach destinations as a teaser for you to irresistibly want to pack your things right ahead and explore for yourself the Pearl of the Orient which is the Philippines.

1)  Boracay

Arguably the best beach in the world, Boracay is one of the famous tourist destinations in the country. Named as the best beach in the world by Yahoo in 2007 and by Britain’s TV Quick in 1996, it is a consistent choice by numerous travel experts as one of the best. Besides its nightlife parties, other leisure activities that can be enjoyed in Boracay are scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing, kite boarding, cliff diving, and if you want to hit some tees, a world-class 18 hole par 72 golf course is also available.

2)  El Nido, Palawan

Dubbed as the Philippines’ last frontier, Palawan was named one of the best travel destinations in the world by the 2007 November-December issue of the National Geographic. With its unique flora and fauna and numerous scenic sights that it has to offer, there’s no question that Palawan deserves the accolades it gets.

Boasting a pristine and unadulterated environment, the beaches of El Nido is the place to go if you would like to enjoy some peace and quiet. Leisure activities available in the beaches of El Nido are scuba diving, kayaking, island hopping, and spelunking.

3)  Siargao

If you are the type of person who enjoys the thrills of surfing, then Siargao is the best beach destination for you. Considered as the surfing capital of the Philippines, Siargao boasts powerful waves that can go up to 12ft high making it a haven for surfing enthusiasts. The place is home for the Siargao Cup, an annual tournament popular to surfers around the globe.

4)  Panglao Island

Located in Bohol where the famed “Chocolate Hills” can also be found, Panglao Island also has its share of the Philippines’ world-class white sand beaches. The place offers its visitors with world-class diving sites and is often a place frequented by diving enthusiasts.

5)  Pagudpud

Not all of the world-class beaches are found in the southern and central part of the Philippines. Because of the blessedness of the country, even the northern part of the Philippines is also endowed with these world-class beach destinations. Located on the northern part of the island of Luzon, Pagudpud’s white sand beaches can compete to the white sand beaches of Boracay. Often compared to Hawaii because of its strong winds, Pagudpud is also a place where surfers can find respectable waves for them to surf.

Citing all of the Philippines’ world-class beaches in one article would be impossible. And if you are now caught in awesome wonder just by seeing a few examples of the beautiful beaches that can be enjoyed here in the Philippines, then wait until you get here and discover for yourself the different sights and wonders of the country dubbed as the Pearl of the Orient.
